Three in four Australians will experience a mental health challenge by the time they turn 25. At Orygen, we work with young people, their families and friends, to develop new, positive approaches to preventing and treating mental disorders.
It’s been a challenging year for us all, and most of us could probably use some help in bouncing back towards a more positive state of mind.
That’s why this October we’re asking you to join the Burpee Bounce Back Challenge – you can help your own mental health by increasing your physical activity, and help others by asking your friends and family to sponsor you with a donation towards Orygen.
Rise up for young minds by doing 1534 burpees over 17 days. Through burpee-ing you’ll help Orygen create a mentally healthier future for the 1534 Aussies aged 17 and under who are diagnosed with a mental illness every day.
Ask your friends and family to sponsor you with a donation, so we can focus on helping young people recover from mental illness.
Sign up today to help young Aussies bounce back towards better mental health.

"Getting involved in the Burpee Bounce Back Challenge is a great way to help others, and also likely to boost your own mental health. Physical activity and physical health are interrelated with mental health, leading to better overall wellbeing."
— Simon Rice, researcher and clinical psychologist at Orygen

"The COVID pandemic has impacted heavily on the mental health of young people. We are responding to a 30 per cent surge in mental ill health and suicidal risk in our young people and need your help.
We can’t thank you enough for rising up for young minds and supporting the team at Orygen and our mission in youth mental health.”
- Professor Patrick McGorry, Executive Director of Orygen
